We're Heading to Dopatropolis — and We'd Love to See You There
Okay, so. Imagine a virtual city. Built entirely for ADHD brains. With workshops, pop-up stores, expert talks, Easter eggs hiding around every corner, and — we are not joking — a dance party.
That's Dopatropolis Bonanza, a three-day virtual event running Wednesday to Friday, May 27–29, hosted by the wonderful humans behind the documentary Anything But ADHD. It's part art show, part conference, part video game, and 100% for anyone who's ever felt like their brain operates a little differently.
Artists, creators, clinicians, coaches, and researchers — all in one gamified world. We've never seen anything quite like it, and we cannot wait.
What Actually Happens at Dopatropolis?
Great question. This isn't a series of Zoom webinars where you sit quietly and take notes. Dopatropolis is a fully gamified virtual city you actually explore — filled with ADHD easter eggs, pop-up stores, and a lineup of live events across all three days.
Here's a taste of what's on:
Wednesday, May 27
- A proper welcome to the city and the story behind why Dopatropolis exists
- A Q&A with Meredith Carder, ADHD coach and author of It All Makes Sense Now
- A session with Shimmer on what ADHD coaching actually is (and whether it's for you)
- Office hours with ADHD kid coach Mandy Hasslen
- And to close out the night? A Silent Disco — DJ'd by our very own Claire Butterfield (aka Sport Mode) 🎧
Thursday, May 28
- A Q&A with licensed ADHD therapist Heather DeAngelis
- Helpful Hacks with Sharon Pope, founder of Shelpful
- An ADHD Women in Film panel
- The M.I.A. Show with coach Ryan Mayer — a high-energy, dopamine-building experience where you actually complete real micro-tasks together live
Friday, May 29
- An icebreaker game to kick things off
- And at 2pm PST — that's us! We're running an interactive workshop on why pen and paper is genuinely one of the best tools for an ADHD brain, and we'll be walking through a few of our favourite tools live
Why We're Excited About This (Beyond the Dance Party)
We spend a lot of time talking about the science behind why analog tools work for ADHD brains — how handwriting strengthens working memory, how a physical card in front of you holds your attention in a way a screen never will, how getting things out of your head and onto paper is one of the most effective things you can do when your brain feels like seventeen browser tabs all playing music at once.
Dopatropolis is a community that genuinely gets that. The whole event is built around the idea that ADHD brains aren't broken — they just need a different kind of environment to thrive. That's something we believe pretty deeply over here.
So yes, we're biased. But we also think this is going to be really, really good.
How to Join Us
Tickets are available for 1, 2, or all 3 days — so you can drop in for just our workshop on Friday, or spend the whole week exploring the city. Every ticket also includes immediate access to a 20-minute sneak peek of the Anything But ADHD documentary, which is worth it on its own.
Grab your ticket here — and come find us on Friday afternoon. We'll be the ones nerding out about pen and paper.
See you in the city. 🚆
